This policy explains what personal data Praxis Studios collects when you visit this website or send an enquiry, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. We try to keep the surface area small: a single contact form and privacy-friendly analytics.
Who we are
Praxis Studios is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. We are a private limited company registered in Scotland (registration SC887582), with our registered office at 48 Ardbeg Road, Carfin, Motherwell, Scotland, ML1 4FE.
Praxis Studios is exempt from the data protection fee under the Data Protection (Charges and Information) Regulations 2018. We remain bound by UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and apply this policy regardless of fee status.
If you have a question about this policy or want to exercise any of the rights described below, write to studio@praxis.example or post to the registered office above, addressed to the Data Protection contact.
What personal data we collect
Two surfaces collect data:
- Contact form. When you send an enquiry we collect your name, company / operator, site reference, drawing type, sheet count, target date, and the brief you write. The form opens your mail client; it does not transmit data to a server we control.
- Analytics. We use Vercel Analytics to understand which pages visitors look at. It is cookieless and does not use any persistent identifier. Each request to Vercel includes your IP address and User-Agent string, which Vercel hashes server-side into a rotating daily session ID and discards.
We do not use marketing cookies, advertising trackers, or third-party scripts beyond Vercel Analytics and our content management system (Sanity).
Legal basis
Under UK GDPR Article 6, we rely on legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) for both surfaces: responding to enquiries you actively send us, and measuring aggregate website usage to keep the site useful. You can object at any time using the contact details above.
How long we keep it
- Enquiry emails: kept while the engagement is active and for 12 months after, then deleted unless we are required to keep them for tax or legal reasons.
- Analytics: aggregated; no individual visitor record is retained beyond the current day.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or share your data for marketing. We use a small set of suppliers to run the site:
- Sanity.io (Sanity Inc., EU/US) — content management.
- Vercel Inc. (US) — analytics and, where applicable, hosting infrastructure.
- Your chosen email provider — your enquiry is sent through your own mail client to studio@praxis.example.
Each supplier processes data under their own privacy commitments. International transfers are covered by the UK Adequacy Decision (Sanity, EU) or UK Standard Contractual Clauses / IDTA (Vercel, US).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you (Article 15);
- ask us to correct it (Article 16) or erase it (Article 17);
- ask us to restrict or object to its processing (Articles 18 and 21);
- ask for a copy in a portable format (Article 20);
- withdraw any consent you have given;
- complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you think we have got something wrong.
Email studio@praxis.example to make any of these requests. We will respond within one calendar month.
Security
Enquiries you send are transmitted by your mail client over TLS to your email provider and then to us. The website itself runs over HTTPS with HSTS, modern security headers, and no inline tracking scripts beyond what is described above.
Children
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
We will update the date at the top of this page when we change anything material. Substantive changes affecting how we use existing data will be flagged on the homepage for at least 30 days.
